How measuring works

Nothing is cut until we have your numbers. After you order we send a measurement sheet — nine values for a full body piece, fewer for gloves, hoods and stockings. If you would rather check the maths yourself, our latex size calculator returns the finished measurements your garment should be cut to at each sheet thickness, and the measuring guide shows where the tape goes.

Latex sizing is not like fabric sizing

Natural latex has no woven threads to hold a shape, so a garment only hugs the body while it is stretched. Makers therefore cut the pattern below your body measurements — typically 12–15% reduction at 0.40mm — which is why a latex garment arrives measuring smaller than you are, and why two makers disagree about what "L" means. It is also why we ask for numbers rather than a letter size.

Care

Rinse after wearing, wash in lukewarm water with mild soap, dry in the shade, and store with a little talc in a cool dark place. Polished latex can be treated with silicone shiner. Avoid oil-based products, and keep it away from copper, brass and sunlight.
